I upgraded to Android 11, why did CS ask me for All Files permission? Can I close it?

Due to Google's new policy, all apps since Android 11 must store program data in a regulated directory. If you started using CamScanner before upgrading to Android 11, the previous data and files must all be migrated to the new directory, otherwise those files will not be displayed properly in CamScanner, nor can they be modified, exported or shared.

In order to migrate previous data to the new directory, CamScanner needs to get permission to access the previous data. "All Files" is the only permission in Android with which the app can access the previous folder. Please rest assured that CamScanner will only read folders where CamScanner data was previously stored.

Once the data migration is complete, you can turn off the All Files permission.
